I do not sympathize with The Joker. He is very cruel and he made use of other people to help his achieve his goal. This is evident as The Joker killed them afterwards, so he did not have to share the money he had stolen from the bank with others. I believe that The Joker did not seem to think of others and had many bad intentions which may harm other innocent people.
I also think that The Joker has no rights to be so cruel to those people in the city and even harm them. He did even not show any mercy when killing those people, and why does he need to kill those people. Those people do not owe him anything, yet The Joker simply just kill them. The Joker is simply heartless, he did not care how others think about him or how others may feel. The Joker just felt that he needed to get what he wanted no matter what.
In The Dark Knight, The Joker robs a bank with his accomplices, whom he tricks into killing one another, ultimately, he killed the last one himself. This showed that the joker was very greedy and would do anything to get what he wants. He even told his accomplices to kill one another after each of them have completed their job and was no longer wanted, so the rest of them could have a bigger share of the money stolen from the bank. But, in the end, it was The Joker who got away with all the money and not sharing it with any of his accomplices, which helped him along the way to achieve his goal.
- What have you learnt from this lesson?
From this lesson, I learnt that impressions are formed by speech/thoughts, image/appearance, relationships with others, actions and background. I also learnt about the similarities and differences between Batman and The Joker and the impact they made to the society. We also got to find out how cruel and greedy The Joker was, and knew more about the characteristics of The Joker and Batman, and how and why each of them destroyed public property, one with good intentions while one with bad intentions.
